The striking light blue in the design is representative of the presence, hope and potential of the United Nations. Scotland is represented at the heart of this enterprise through the purple and green of the Scottish thistle. The red and black in the design represent and remind us of the realities of war and violence and the great need for a new living culture of nonviolence with the white running through the pattern as a counterbalance symbolic of peace and light.

A bit off theme but here’s one for the ginger lovers - Harry gets naked —-
“Just when people thought he was all grown-up, ginger-lovers the world over can rejoice. Prince Harry’s wild holiday in Las Vegas USA before resuming his military duties was a bit more scandalous than previously thought and has produced fruits of what many have been wanting for years - nude pics of the randy, red Prince.
Harry hit up several exclusive pool parties over the weekend (with Ryan Lochte) and was seen chatting with and ogling plenty of bikini-clad birds. But the party moved inside on Friday night and that’s when Harry seems to have let it all hang out. American tabloid site TMZ reported Harry brought a large group back to his VIP suite for a game of “strip billiards” - and got totally naked.
In the leaked photos (initially obtained by the site), he appears cupping his crotch in one image and tackling another naked billiards player from “behind” in another. The only thing he seems to be wearing is a pendant necklace, the same one he wore later to the pool on Saturday. According to TMZ, a royal rep said, “We have no comment to make on the photos at this time” but did confirm the photos are indeed genuine”…
The “Brave” Tartan ~
The DunBroch Tartan was designed for the just released film “Brave” with subdued, rich colours to reflect the rugged, natural setting of Scotland. Representative of the tartan worn by the fictional Royal Family in the animated tale, the pattern is organically refined in its colour sense. There was a concerted effort to use hues that were indicative of the less saturated dyeing techniques during the olden period in which the fantasy film is set.
The DunBroch Tartan is the original work of Pixar Animation Studios and is protected by applicable copyright and trademark laws. Only to be woven with the written consent of Disney/Pixar.
Much like Scotland itself, the DunBroch Tartan is set against the ocean blue of the North Sea. The deep scarlet represents the family’s reverence for its own history, and the blood shed during battles between the clans. Deep green shows a love for Scotland’s majestic highlands, where the story of “Brave” unfolds. Navy blue, and its clear central intersections, represents the forging of the clans within the mythical DunBroch kingdom. And finally, the subtle grey imbues a sense of respect for the inner soul of the strong Scottish people…
“The Pied Piper” segment of this year’s Broadway Bares “Happy Endings” fund-raiser production held 17 June in NYC was a kilted take on the age old tale. It was complete with the bawdy choreography the event is known for and starred a gang of lads who stripped off to show what was under their kilts mid-song all to raise a record-breaking $1,254,176 to benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS…

True Sport Of The Scotland ~ “The inspiration for this photographic project came from the porridge oats advert and its theme “The true taste of Scotland”. With this idea in mind I based my project on Scotland’s national love of Chips. I then incorporated it into the theme of this project for the upcoming Olympic games. The images are to show a sense of humour and good nature towards this event”.
